RIP Whicker Man and Callan-Edward Woodward Dies

We have just heard the sad news that Edward Woodward passed away last night. Mrs Flyboy took the call from my brother who rang to let us know that an old family friend had died in the night. Edward has been linked to our family since he was a customer of my father's, at the restaurant in Piccadilly, during the nineteen sixties and they soon became firm friends. We had many good times playing with Peter and Tim when we were children. My eldest brother played golf with Peter and he was an excellent player. Tim didn't play much, he preferred rugby.

We did hear he had a fall earlier this year, during the summer and we sent our best wishes. We hadn't been in touch for sometime and I am disappointed we didn't get again to meet before now. We last saw him at a funeral for a mutual friend two years ago and he looked as fit as a fiddle.

We don't have any specific details yet, but we wish his family our condolences and strength at this sad time.
