Linden Labs are looking to start selling boxes running Second Life servers next year..

Pay $55,000 and you can have one..

They are touting it as an ideal solution for international companies and organisations, who would use it instead of flying staff to other countries and paying for hotels for them. They also claim it's easier and more interactive than using Video conferencing systems and instant messengers.

Now, having used SL (not by choice, one of our courses uses it, so I have to be able to ensure there are no problems with it) a bit, I am not convinced, but apparently the US Navy is..
