Very poor speeds all the time over the last week. When I first got 20Mbit a couple of months ago it was very good (about 19mbit) but has gradually got slower over the weeks.

It is marginally better very late at night i.e. 12am-2am but even then i only get 10Mbit maximum and very erratic speeds.

I did the manual download speedtest from http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyondergames/demos/ and got a crappy 310kb/s. So frustrating!

I am connected via ethernet. I have disconnected my router and attached VM modem directly to my PC but speeds didn't change.

Getting timeouts when pinging:

C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX>ping www.ntlworld.com -t

Pinging www.ntlworld.com [212.250.162.12] with 32 bytes of data:

From the modem:

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 4
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5056.941 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps32Increment4
Downstream Receive Power Level : 12.6 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 37.7 dB

Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 3
Upstream Frequency : 34000000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QPSK
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 38.0 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Any ideas? I haven't phoned VM yet as in my experience I get no joy from turning everything on and off 3 times and hanging on the phone for 40 mins

Any help would be appreciated
Downstream power level is way to high - give tech support a call to get an engineer.
