Firstly, I'm a reasonably confident PC user but I'm not a techie. I have a VM 10Mb Broadband, and I've recently set up a wireless router - nothing special about the router as it's a Dynamode BR - 6004W - G -N.

The company I work for has equipped my works laptop with Remote Access, using VPN so that I can work from home. When I currently try to login via Cable Wireless Remote Access I can pick up the wireless network no problem. However, when VPN starts up I get an error message 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.

I've read somewhere that VM does not provide support to their users regarding VPN, and have not yet contacted them. My works IS Dept advise that the problem relates to my own ISP rather than the works laptop - it has been fully tested.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks,

Mike
I work from home all the time and use VPN to connect to the Office network and never have any problems at all

what VPN are you connecting to (I connect to a Checkpoint firewall using the CheckPoint secureremote client)

also check your wifi router supports VPN pass-thru should be an option in the settings.
