well if you are one of the high risk groups the odds of getting seriously ill from the flu rises. This woman does not look like she falls into thiss list so the odds of her developing serious conditions from the flu is low.

Between 1979 and 2001 on average 41.400 people died per year from seasonal flu 304 million people in the US so that equates roughly to 1 in 7400 ( please forgive my maths if that figure is incorrect)
