When you do get your broadband back up on the 7th, phone customer services and advise them that you were without your broadband due to a mistake on Virgin Media's part. You'll usually get a credit back for that period. While it's pretty likely that you'd rather have had a working internet connection, a tenner or so off your bill is better than a poke in the eye with a stick.
