According to Wikipedia, the Scientific-Atlanta
V+ box has four tuners (3 video, 1 data) but it doesn't specify what the Samsung
V+ box has. There seems to be confusion as to whether the
Sky+ boxes have two or three tuners but I guess they have three (2 video, 1 data). I presume that the data tuner is used for downloading the EPG and software updates. Broadband, where applicable, is most likely handled by seperate cable modem circuitry (which, in reality, has a tuner in it too).
