Virgin need to bite the bullet and spend money on replacing the older non-mpeg4 capable boxes and switching broadcasts to mpeg4, in the long run they would save alot of money but the short term would obviously be costly.

they dnt acutally, it works fine, it only becomes blocky on veyr large screens, until virign are out of debt or it a abolsute requirement ot ugprade they wont.
and yes mpeg4 is the better codec i dnt deny it but if you are comparing only one or two factors and not giving what bitrates etc then no it not, for a fair comparsion oyu need to say what the settings for h264 youa re using and mpeg2 so it can be seen they are simialr then the resutls can be compared and h264 does win but not by much the thing it wins on most is bandwidth which is wher ei agree virign should upgrade for. btw only use h264 on hd not on there sd boxes
