Now that in-App purchasing for free Apps is allowed, Boxcar has gone FREE.

Instead of purchasing the main App itself, the App + one Push service is free, and you pay to add additional Push services.

I have Push email anyway (Google), don't need Push for Facebook (email updates), so all I need is one Push service for Boxcar (Twitter)... which is free
