There's been many a time when routing/dns or even local issues have prevented a VM user connecting to sites that even other vm users can get too...

Until the OP stated "I can get into the account but cannot read any of my e-mails" there was no way of telling that it wasn't a VM issue..

As for your logic every connection in the world should be able to connect to every website in the world, so in essence nothing is a VM problem
