Go to the Internet forum and plough away at the posts. Perhaps search on the term "624 static ip address". I hope you'll find a match; my flaky memory says you might.

For reasons nobody has been able to explain, sometimes you need to disable DHCP in your router and set the IP address of the modem's destimation as the static IP address in the router. Something like that. It's all set out in the threads I hope you find.

You could try and borrow a different router (default settings) and see what happens.
