I'm guessing you're talking from the point of view of running a company that was being slated and indeed sued for money back from customers.

To be honest the more publicity bad businesses get the better, it can help others make more informed purchasing decisions.

Any company can mess up, it's how they deal with the mess up that speaks volumes. If a company is clearly poor and failing to manage their customers properly they deserve everything they get.
