Re: Powerline networking - pro's & con's

Pros: It works really well, is very simple and rock solid. You also get wireless extenders. Go through the powerlines where needed and go wireless after that.

Cons:
Don't expect great speeds. I've got a set that are rated at 85mbps, but don't get much more than 15 mbps throughput. Newer models have are rated at 200mbps (IIRC), but I don't know what throughput they achieve.

Price. Last time I looked, they weren't very cheap.

If you don't need super fast speeds and want reliability, I'd go for it.
