Normally I browse/change channels via the TiVo menu so its not a problem but if V+ is anything approaching this slow then it sounds almost unusable.
I personally think that the times you quote are unreasonable - I had 3 SA v+ boxes over 2 years, each started off ok & deteriorated past the stage you mention above (and no - the hard drive was not full before anyone asks) - ultimately the last box stopped responding and stuck on one channel - Seems weird to me that all of th SA boxes I have seem to suffer the same fate - Virgin Tech came and swapped out for a new Samsung box last week which is undoubtably faster than any SA box I have had (even when they worked properly from new) - The Samsung is very quick - on a par with a Sky Box I would say (so far)!
First of all deshepherd, irrespective of what anyone tells you about the V+ box, it is most certainly an upgrade from TiVo (just my opinion, you understand).

Secondly, what savenosouls has just related to, is entirely possible with any PVR system, but with VM, at least you won't have to fork out for a new box.
