Also, those clubs are run a bit differently. They aren't run by billionaire playboys, they are fan cooperatives who elect presidents and have to garner investments, not raid their piggy banks. Real Madrid have spent a lot of money but they received it via a bank loan. A bank would only have lent it if it was within the football club's means to repay it. Therefore their spending is reasonable.

The Financial Fair Play law is supposed to prevent owners like Abramovich and Sheik Whoever from coming and investing sums of money that are way beyond the means of the club to get in its own right.

I don't like Blatter and Platini, and they don't like the EPL. I do think its a good thing though.
