I looked at the HP manual for reapplying the thermal paste and the laptop would need to be completely dismantled, as it's out of warranty and I don't want to do it myself and end up with an expensive paperweight I've taken it to my local computer shop.
I thought about the cooling mat but decided it wouldn't be a solution but would just mask the problem.
