I am being driven potty by this.

About a year ago I was looking for some information on the suburb of Manchester I live in, in particular a derelict supermarket (former Kwik Save).

Anyway, in the process of so doing, I came across a photo of ANOTHER small supermarket (well, more like a food store) taken in 1958. It would have looked quite modern for the time. I recall Googling the name and finding out that it was a chain of shops that eventually ended up being part of Tesco (possibly through more than one takeover) in the late fifties/early sixties, and I think it was only in the North of England.

Trouble is, I can't now find the photo and I can't recall the name.

I recall it sounded almost foreign, something like Adena but it wasn't actually that.

Several hours of Googling has not unearthed this name and I wondered if anyone knows of it.
