Ads? What you get is actually a page of Yahoo search results with OpenDNS branding on them. OpenDNS makes money if you use those results. Much the same as Mozilla makes money by defaulting 404 errors to a Google search in Firefox. OpenDNS and Mozilla Firefox are both products that are free to the end user but have to be paid for somehow.

We use OpenDNS here and have not noticed any late-night performance issues.
