It has taken nearly 11 months for HD channels to arrive on VM, with promises from VM it will be here shortly or imminent.

How do you know if in this case VM are dragging their feet? You know absolutely nothing about what's going on between ESPN and VM, only the same rumours we have. If they were to have ESPN on XL for free, I highly doubt I'd hear you complaining. Although no doubt you'd find something to complain about, seeing as you enjoy it so much.
