I've just been speaking to a Virgin Media CS agent to ask how much extra it would cost to upgrade my broadband.
Here's an extract from my latest bill:
Code:
Telephone line rental 11.00
Phone, TV, Bb L Discount -12.50
Payment Handling Charge Credit - 3.50
Calldispl 2.00
TV Size L 11.50
Payment Handling charge 5.00
Broadband size L 25.00
TOTAL 38.50
The agent said it would cost an extra £20 a month to upgrade to XXL broadband. I can cope with this.
However, he also quoted an installation fee of £30 and £20 for activation.
Now I was under the impression I already had a cable installation. After all, I've only been using it for the last five years. I thought they'd just send out a cable modem (disconnect the one and add the other) and that's all I'd need.
Is this charge justified £50, particularly as the modem would still belong to Virgin?
