Setanta Sports channels did not become free. Setanta Sports news did. Big difference. Or to be more precise, once they lost they basic channels including Sky Sports news they created a new sprots channel in combination with Setanta sports.

Setanta Sports 1 and 2 continued to be premium channels that cost £10 per month (with NASN/ESPN America included).
