There won't be another channel. ESPN America turns into ESPN.
I doubt that there will be any freebies. I have XL but don't have ESPN America and don't expect to get ESPN automatically when it raplaces ESPN America on channel 533 (despite Media Boy reporting it as 553 ).

My understanding is that even if you have ESPN America now, you will have to subscribe to the new channel when it launches, regardless of your TV pack.
