Dear Footie Fanatics,

Is it really that much better to watch footie in HD? Do you get the 'being there' feeling from the High Definition and Surround Sound? I'm beginning to think it is just that you have such big screens that anything, footie or otherwise, looks awful in SD because the pixels are the size of dice and it's hard on the eyes when there is so much movement in the picture as is the case with football and other action sports. Snooker with cube-shaped balls might not seem so bad, as the camera is fixed on the same area for long periods but with football, it is following the ball and panning and zooming a lot. Does being able to see every blade of grass enhance the experience?

Please don't flame me. It's an genuine theory and honest question.
