After following this thread in its many forms for a long long time I have decided to add my first post, So hello all.
On the subject of the hd channels I have been waiting patiently for the price to come down on the tv's before investing in the equipment and then waiting for news of channels to arrive on virgin. Now the channels are arriving i think i will make the switch fairly soon. The announced channels will do me fine for now (accept mtv, I have never been one for music vidoes, if I a want music i have an mp3 player for that) and the hd content in vod is not bad.
However am i being thick in thinking that at least 2 of the four channels annouced belong to skys parent company (news corparation)? Does anyone think that this may mean that the boys at news corp may be seeing that its better to get the channels out on all platforms and maximize revenue thru wholesale values for the channels rather than have them as a sky exclusive? i know it will be a long time before we see the sky branded hd channels on virgin but maybe any other hd channels that sky has a hand in or has them tied to exclusive deals may be coming in the future.
On another note I wonder if we will ever get the sky player on virgin (lol) now that would be a coup.
Anyway thanks for letting me waffle but what does anyone else think?
