It is simple
yes we can do it at a price and terms that is acceptable to both sides
no we can't do it at a price that is acceptable to both sides
If the former was the case 12/18 months ago but now is possible due to change in circumstances then its not really an 18 month negotiation but a negotation which closed, parked for some time and re-opened by one of the parties.
