Fact is Virgin have dragged their heels for so long now on HD that Sky now have an unassailable lead over them. 6 channels is obviously better than the 0.5 they have now, but they should be adding 20 or 30 of them, and getting EVERY new HD channel that launches on day one. They need to be agressive.

The lack of any HD movie channels is obviously a huge omission too, as is the lack of any of Sky's content. Sky One for all it's brain dead, lowest common denominator tabloid sewage does ocassionally show some good US sourced drama, which must be seen in HD.
the issue is that Sky tie up all HD channels as soon as they launch due to having the market power to do so. its all to do with being the being the biggest PPV tv supplier/broadcaster in the world that gives you an advantage like that.
yea we all know its a bitch of a way to do things but thats buisness.

the reason we are getting the 6 we are is because they are the longest running channels in HD and are most likely at the end of their exclusivity deal with Sky. we may find as more HD channels exclusivity deals expire we get more channels. but this is all down to VM and if they want to get into HD in a big way like Sky or if they want to just want to offer enough to tease people.
