Sorry, this is rubbish.
Stores promote sky because sky pay them to do so. Not because the stores have decided sky is better.
You get free sky HD boxes at tesco when you buy a new tv not because the head of tesco thinks sky have a superior HD offering, but because sky went to him and said "we'll give you xx million if you push people to sign up to our service!"
Now why do they need to do that if people are so interested in HD? Surely it's a product that would sell itself. They have 30odd HD channels, the next highest is 2, surely they don't need to push it on people if they're all clamoring for HD... unless of course the mass market consumer really isn't that interested in it?
