swooney , way back in 04-06-2004 asked "Is there any way I can view my NTL digital on my PC using a DVB-C card?" so made it perfectly clear they wanted to use their VALID payed for Subscription to do this, your point seems rather at odds with the question.
and yes back then, you could also buy first generations of these DVB-C cards, cams etc, so they could have....
