Whilst I rate Gerrard highly he doesn't deserve the award this year. Its the David Ginola scenario all over again.
Gerrard got 73 votes out of 202. Giggsy got 63, followed by Rooney, Vidic & Ferdinand. If you add the 3 votes for Ronaldo and 2 for Carrick you have a total of 122 votes for United players. No wonder Gerrard himself said he was 'surprised' to be given the award, even he didn't think he deserved it.
