Hi guys ok first of all i am a complete ignorant on laptops so i might be missing something really simple. My daughter has bought the titled laptop and when the mains power is connected it gets to the account login screen on vista and when an account is clicked the screen just dies.
Now if i boot in safe mode i can get into any of the accounts and there isn't a problem likewise if i disconnect mains power and just power up off the battery again no problem. If i power up off the battery and then connect mains power screen goes off.
Now couple of things given all this am i right to assume the screen is fine and the problem lies elsewhere and also if it only happens when not using safe mode is there a chance they screwed something up in the pre delivery inspection. Also might a system reset back to factory settings do the trick ??.
I really am at a loss with this and have to get it sorted quickly as my daughter is the type that if it goes on for a week or so she will get completely disillusioned with it and that will cause more problems. Thanks in advance for any help you have to offer on this
