They (whoever They are), have little or no control over what will, or will not happen. We humans, will indeed allow overpopulation to (if not) destroy or severly damage our planets biosphere....
There is an ingrained, and arrogant belief that we humans are
Special, and as such can do as we damn well please, with and to our little blue planet. Kind of unfortunate for all the other organisms that we have to eradicate in our drive for more, more, More! Strangely, everytime we cure a disease after years or decades of research, at the cost of tens or even hundreds of millions of pounds/dollars. A new and more deadly/debilating disease/virus/illness appears, at which we throw masses of time and money at to cure, just so more humans (in the developed world) can lead longer, but no happier and secure lives....
