She is not being given what she needs to effectively cope in the world, nor is she being afforded the opportunity to make choices for herself. She is being presented one choice and being made to think it is the only legitimate choice. That is what makes it abuse and a travesty. Sadly she is far from the only victim in her family, or the world.
