Windows Live Messenger 2009

Prior to 2009, dragging and dropping a file in messenger, actually sent the file to the contact. Now, it seems dragging and dropping a file only adds it to a shared folder.

I don't want to use shared folders, I don't trust M$ that much to give a contact access to a folder on my PC. I want it to SEND them the picture or file.

Yes, I know I can still send via the files menu but why should I make 30 clicks to select the file, when its on my desktop, and I should just be able to drag and drop it.

Does anyone know how to make messenger revert to the old behaviour of sending it when its drag-n-drop, instead of adding it to a shared folder?

Hell, where are the shared folders even kept? So I can check what rubbish is in them,
