I have received a replacement router from Netgear and still having problems. I don't want to call them again without an idea - can anybody suggest anything.

Plug laptop direct to modem - get 50mb/s
Use my old Linksys router - get 40mb/s+ (wired via cat5e)
Use the 2nd Netgear N and get 1 mb/s (same as one I have sent back)

I've even used their supplied cables (I have 2 set now!) in both ends and still no improvement. Firmware is latest version.
