As already suggested a SCART lead is your best option
That way you use the antenna for freeview and scart for sky
Other than that I take it the skyboxes don't have RF passthru cable of dealing with digital signals? Also a splitter as you described isn't splitting the signal but actually joining a signal so you'll probablky end up with mega problems trying to do that..
