Virgin will get Sky's HD channels eventually but all Virgin subs will get access to them at the same time when that time comes. However if your landlord isn't interested in running the extra cables you need to use a PVR, your only alternative is Virgin, because the V+ service still only requires one cable coming into your flat.
I live in a 22 story tower block and there are numerous towers in the area and the council just wouldn't burden tax payers quite rightly so with the cost of this work.
