What do you think my chances are of getting a new iPhone? Its still (Just) within its year warranty... plus theres the whole "reasonable time" thing that you have the right to when asking for something fixed.
IE: When you buy a device (the iPhone a casing point), you could reasonably expect it to keep working once the warranty has run out and the vendor should attempt to rectify the issue providing its a reasonable time (don't expect them to do anything 2-3years down the line though...).

If your Wifi doesn't work then book a Genius appointment and get them to look at it, if it doesn't work then they will give you a new iphone (well refurb) although if your lucky and they don't stock 2G ones anymore, they might give you a 3G which is always a reason to go in and see if they will replace!
