On that we agree Rizzy, in all those years of growth you'd have thought he would have kept something back in retrospect that was plainly irresponsible.
But like many people when the good times are rolling your not giving tomorrow a lot of thought, add to that London being the financial center it is in a recession money tends to go back to the investors home country leaving the city in a very precarious situation.
Also as a side note the fact that GB was putting large amounts into the NHS and education certainly mollified a lot of people, myself included after experiencing the NHS in the 80s.
