Trisha what happens when you dial 1470? Do you get an alternating dial tone? If so, your phone might be dialling too fast for the exchange to pick up the first digit in the number string, after the phone dials 1470.

If your phone allows it, you may need to program a pause after 1470 into the phone memory, e.g. 1470p0121xxxxxxx. I know you can do this with Panasonic handsets but you will have to check the user guide for your particular handset / phone.
