Disney have ( are redoing ) redone some of thier old films by re scanning and enhancing them they look fantastic

however some have just used the original dvd scans and just software up scaled to blu ray these may look a little better than the dvd version but not much

so far most stuff i have seen looks better on blu ray but some dvds look better on my dvd player than they do being upscaled by the blu ray player
Where did you get that information?

Every big Film company i.e Warner Brothers and Fox have been scanning all their old films at 4K before mastering the Blu-Ray or other HD versions. Same goes for the older films like The Thing and Close Encounters which look stunning on Blu-Ray.
