I doubt it's a virus or something like that. I had that problem with my Linksys WRT54G router. Every couple of hours it would just completely kick every wireless connection, meaning I had to go and use the reset switch on the router. I upgraded the firmware and it was sorted.

What is the model number of the modem? Is it on it's latest firmware?
