After thinking about it a bit bit more, there's another problem with the new points/wins system. If the WDC is settled a long way before the end of the season(I reckon that't a certainty), then where is the motivation for drivers to puch for a race win, they aren't going to get anything out of it. The constructors championship isn't a motivation because that will probably have been decided as well.
