I use an app called Measures. It's a paid app and converts all sorts of measurements including currency. Might be a bit overkill for you tho.

There are report of people sharing the iPhone 3.0 beta and non-developer phones refusing to activate on the AT&T network in America. So if your on the O2 contract, be wary of installing unofficial firmwires.
