Re: 720p or 1020i
I've been wanting to ask this question myself, so thanks.
I have an hd tv which the descriptions claims has a resolution of 1680x1050. I originally had it set on 720(p) only to one day try it at the 1080, which I didn't beleive my tv supported. Well, I was actually struck that the picture was better, and it seemed that programmes in 4:3 seemed to use more of the screen. However, since then I do get the feeling that programmes in HD do not look as sharp as they did in 720.
So my question is; Would I really see much of a difference between the two? Or was it just my imagination (my eyesight is fine btw.)
Also does having my V+ set to 1080 make any difference to the amount of screen a 4:3 will use?
Finally, if my tv doesn't support 1080 but I use the setting anyway, will this make programmes I watch in HD look poorer than if I watch them in 720?
I hope the fine (and very smart) people on here can give me their opinion, as I do switch between the two, but sometimes don't trust my own judgement.
