I'm sure professionally trained staff would have known what to do. This individual clearly didn't.

Perhaps the lesson to be learnt here is for teaching assistants to be properly trained if they're expected to handle children with special requirements and considerations. I'd have thought it would have been common sense that isolating a small child in a room was a definite NO NO.
