I have a samsung r505 laptop I got from argos in the january sales (so fairly new) i've noticed whenever I goto burn a dvd it just hangs on lead-in and never progresses any further, after about 10mins or so it will just give up.

The discs are Verbatim DVD-R disks, unfortantly I don't have any others atm to try

I've successfully burnt cd's before using the drive and I know the software works (tryed power2go and imgburn) as I plugged in a USB burner (LG gsa 4163 drive in a usb caddy) and that burns fine.

Onboard drive is a TEAC DV-W28SR, I'm wondering if it's a problem with the drive or just a case of it doesn't like these perticular discs?
