Well other than those bearshare or whatever crap, I imagine most Viruses are spread without the user's direct consent. This can't happen on the mac as the code cannot execute, and I can't imagine anyone sending files without knowing what they are. The only danger is files that appear ok which are hiding a malicious payload..
