You don't have an automatic right to get paid it, this is something usually negotiated with management (and very rarely happens in my experience). They can't force you to take it, but if you don't, you'll lose it - as simple as that. By law you are entitled to 4.8 weeks (including bank hols) paid leave (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employme...ys/DG_10029788) in a year plus bank holidays, so because you've not taken it yet and the holiday year more than likely ends on 31st March they are pressurising you to take it - its in your interest, so take it!

Most people would love to be in your position! I've got a few days left myself to take but thats cos i'm lucky enough to start the year with 33 days plus bank hols etc.
