Yes people do sell them on Ebay and they are selling to all intents and purposes stolen property, but it gets better all these routers come preconfigured with Embedded Virgin Firmware onboard which is virtually impossible to remove without bricking the router and if you ring Netgear for support they will tell you no can do as they do not support the Firmware and Virgin will not help even if you are a customer because it is not listed on your equipment page.
So if you buy one from Ebay then I would say "Caveat emptor" or in English "Let the buyer beware
" as you may end up with a worthless lemon.
