Why do you want the server on the internet side of your LAN. That way your server gets no protection from the router's firewall.

If your server must be on the LAN side of the router then you'll need to set it up to allow internet connection sharing, or some similar functionality so that the router and PCs conneted to it get their IPs from the server. Indeed it is the server that would need to be runing DHCP to allow the router to get an IP. Your server would be the router and all you'd need is a switch instead of the router.
